The Opening Ceremony of the 13th Asian + Age-Group Chess Championships 2012, one of the important activities of the North Central Coast National Tourism Year - Hue 2012, was held on 11th of June at Huong Giang Hotel Resort & Spa.

The number of athlete in this competition is largest  in the history of Asian + Age-Group Chess Championships and Huong Giang Hotel Resort & Spa is chosen as the place to celebrate this great event with accommodation, F&B services, competition halls for all athletes, referees and relevant members.

The competition will be taken place from 10^th to 19^th of June  with the participation of 418 athletes from 11 countries in Southeast Asia and several countries from other regions of Asia. With 264 athletes, Vietnam is ranked as the first country in participation numbers, followed by the Philippines delegation with 40 athletes, Singapore with 28 athletes, ... There are 12 age-groups at 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20 and over 50 for men & women in this competition. The athletes will compete to obtain 78 sets of individual & team medals in 3 kinds: Fast Chess (7 games), Blitz Chess (7 games) and Standard Chess (9 games).

The Closing Ceremony will be held on 18^th of June at the International Conference Center of Huong Giang Hotel Resort & Spa.
